We've no idea, say newspapers

The Times today has the headline, 'We've no idea, say police in Madeleine case', but the Express manages to splash with 'Madeleine: We are just hours from the solution', according to Portugal's top policeman.

Award for journalism-by-numbers with a rusty pallet and easel - although you have to admire the bloody-minded commitment to keeping the paper ticking over in August - to the Express, for a story suggesting the Queen and PM are facing growing public anger over their refusal to fly the flag at half-mast on the 10th anniversary of Diana's death.

Public anger attributed to the Diana Circle, leading lights of which must be top of their royal correspondent's speed dial
